Day 1 – Istanbul – Thursday 22nd April 2010

Welcome to Turkey. Arrive in Istanbul.Transfer from the International Ataturk Airport and check-in to your hotel. Transfers from Sabiha Gokcen Airport can be arranged with an extra charge. You have free time to discover Istanbul till the evening. There will be a conference about ANZAC Dawn Service and Turkey from 06:00 pm. to 07:00 pm. The conference will be given by ANZAC experts who will come from Australia and New Zealand and by our professional Turkish ANZAC guides. After conference, at 07:30 p.m you have “Welcome Cocktail” at the hotel. Tonight, you can join one of our optional tour, Traditional 1001 Turkish Nights. You can meet our friendly crew and the other travellers while enjoying traditional Turkish food and the mystical atmosphere of Istanbul at night. The programme begins at 08:30 p.m. Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 2 – Istanbul City Tour – Friday 23rd April 2010

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart from the hotel at 08:30 a.m for the Istanbul city tour.

TOPKAPI PALACE The great palace of the Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries housing an exquisite collection of crystal, silver, and Chinese porcelain, robes worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury, miniatures, the Holy Mantle; enshrining relics of the Prophet Mohammed. SULTANAHMET IMPERIAL MOSQUE Across from St. Sophia built in the 16th century by the architect Mehmet, is known as the BLUE MOSQUE because of its magnificent interior decoration of blue Iznik tiles.HIPPODROME Ancient Hippodrome, the scene of chariot races, with the three monuments; the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine. Lunch break and then we head to the SPICE BAZAAR (Egyptian Bazaar) The air here is filled with the enticing aromas of cinnamon, caraway, saffron, mint, thyme and every other conceivable herb and spice.

After the tour you can join one of our optional tour “The Bosphorous Dinner Cruise”. You will have the chance to enjoy magnificent views of Bosphorous which is connecting Asia to Europe.

Tonight we have a “Welcome ANZAC Party” arranged to meet and greet the groups and tour guides. This is an optional activity, unlimited local drinks from 09:00 -11:00 p.m. Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 3 – Gallipoli Tour – Saturday 24th April 2010

After breakfast at the hotel we depart from the hotel at 07:00 a.m. for Gallipoli (4,5 hours drive). Through our journey, we have a chance to watch the latest documentary on the Gallipoli Campaign. We will have a stop on the way down for supplies. Our tour stars from the Gallipoli Peninsula in the afternoon. The tour includes The Kapatepe War Museum, ANZAC Cove, Lone Pine (Australias Memorial and Cemetery), Quinns Post, Turkish 57th Regiment Cemetery, The Nek and Chunuk Bair (New Zealand’s Memorial and Cemetary).

By the end of the tour we drive to the coast of Kabatepe, for one of our optional service ANZAC BBQ and buffet dinner. At 09:30 p.m we will depar fort he ANCAZ Dawn Service. Overnight at ANZAC Cove.If you prefer to stay in a hotel instead of staying outside at the ANZAC Commemorative Site overnight, we provide optional hotel accommodation at Gallipoli. But this option is not available after your arrival, you should book your accommodation before you arrive in Turkey.

Day 4 – Gallipoli Dawn Service – Sunday 25th April 2010

You should better bring your slleping bags, warm clothes, wet weather gear and torches with you. Because Gallipoli is still dark and cold today, same as it was 95 years ago when your anchestors landed.

After the services we will depart for the ancient city of Troy (about an hour drive). After Troy, we drive to our hotel (3 hours drive) in Ayvalik (dinner included) and overnight in Ayvalik.

Day 5 – Bergama Tour & Kusadasi – Monday 26th April 2010

After breakfast at the hotel we will depart for Bergama Tour (45 minutes drive), to see Asklepion, Zeus’s alter, the Red Bassilcia etc. BERGAMA is the site of the Hellenistic – and later Roman city of Pergamon, ruled for several centuries by a powerful local dynasty. Its foremost attraction is the Kizil Avlu or “Red Basilica”, a huge edifice on the river not far from the acropolis, originally built as a temple to the Egyptian god Osiris and converted to a basilica by the early Christians, when it was one of the Seven Churches of Asia Minor addressed by St John in the book of Revelation – though sadly it’s now a crumbling ruin with a mosque in one of its towers.

After Pergamon we will drive to Kusadasi and overnight in Kusadasi.

Day 6 – Ephesus & Kusadasi – Tuesday 27th April 2010

After breakfast at the hotel we will depart at 08:30 a.m for Ephesus Tour. The city, whose wealth and patronage supported its splendid architectural program, was dedicated to the goddess Artemis. Her enormous temple, once considered one of the seven wonders of the Ancient World and rebuilt several times, dates in its latest form from the third century B.C. The tour of the ruins also includes a theatre, gymnasium, agora and baths, as well as the Library of Celsus.

After lunch, we will have time to shopping, that you will be aware of the ancient arts of Turkey like leather manufacturing and jewellery. Then transfer back to hotel and overnight in Kusadasi.

Day 7 – Pamukkale Tour – Wednesday 28th April 2010

After breakfast at the hotel we will depart at 08:30 a.m for Pamukkale Tour (2,5 hours drive).
In Pamukkale we will see the calcium terraces of Pamukkale (Cotton Castle) and the ruins of Hierapolis, walking around this natural phenomenon gives you the option of lying in the waters of the natural springs that flow down the calcium terraces.

After the tour we will check in to our hotel and have dinner at the hotel. After dinner you will have free time. Overnight in Pamukkale.

Day 8 – Pamukkale & Bodrum – Friday 29th April 2010

After breakfast at the hotel we wil depart at 08:30 a.m for Bodrum. Bodrum as a city is quickly becoming one of the most sort after destinations in Europe and with such a precedence, it offers some fantastic adventures for any age group. Visit the castle of St. Peter, the symbol of Bodrum. The Crusader castle was built by the knights of St. John between 1402 and 1409. After being defeated in Smyrna (The ancient name of Izmir), the knights came to Halikarnassos and began the construction of the castle.. 01:00 p.m Visit the ancient theater The Theatre is located on the hillside overlooking Bodrum. The hillside theater that dates from the 4th century BC was built to seat 5.000 people. When rediscovered, it was not in very good condition and therefore has been recently restored. The view of the town from there is beautiful. Overnight in Bodrum. (dinner included)

Day 9 – Free Day in Bodrum – Saturday 30th April 2010

Free day in Bodrum. You can visit the Underwater Museum and Bodrum Castle, join daily tours like Aqua Park, scuba diving, fishing tour and many more. Overnight in Bodrum. (breakfast and dinner included)

Day 10 – Bodrum The End – Sunday 1st May 2010

Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, please check out from your room before 11.00 a.m. End of our ANZAC Day Service.

Please make your own arrangements for departure or please let us know if you need airport transfer. We can arrange your transfer and it is extra of charge. Also if you want to stay longer in Bodrum we can extend your accommodation. In your spare time in Bodrum, you can join other optional tours like Jeep Safari, Horse Safari, Turkish Bath, Turkish Night etc.
